Welcome to Troop 465!

Thanks for joining our troop! We’re glad you could be here!

Our troop is known for our relaxed atmosphere.

We are also known for our service. We assist with the Westmoreland County March For Parks in the Spring and the Veteran’s Fishing Derby in the Fall.

If you bridged over from Cub Scouts, we will help you start your journey in Boy Scouts and help you earn your Scout rank.

To help get you familiar with our troop activities, a few items need explained:

  • Scout Bucks — When a scout participates in a fundraiser, the money they earn is kept by the troop as Scout Bucks. They can be used to pay for any Scout expense.
  • Klondike — In February our council holds a competition between the troops in our district. Each troop has a station where the other troops rotate in throughout the day and compete. At each station there is some Scout skill or game to be performed. The Klondike wraps up with all troops participating in a sled race. Also, we camp out overnight.
  • Camporee — Our council plans 2 weekend camp-outs in the local area. One is in the Spring and the other is in the Fall. Most of the troops in our district come and participate. Each camporee has a theme that changes from year to year.
  • Court of Honor — Each Spring and Fall we have a Court of Honor where we recognize the scouts for the ranks and awards that they earned. At the end of the ceremony, we typically have a pot luck dinner in the church’s fellowship hall.
  • Troop Committee — Our Scoutmaster has a team of adults who supports him. They are the leadership team that helps the troop become the best it can be.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the Scoutmaster or any adult who’s on the Troop Committee.
