Monday, October 12, 2026 — Orienteering Event at Shields Farm

Come and test your compass skills at an orienteering course at Shields Farm!

Unlike the Spring event, this will be a scoring event. There will be 20 control flags placed around the park, and they will have different point values. Scouts will participate in pairs and will have 90 minutes to find as many controls of their choosing. Prizes will be given to the teams with the most points. It is a great opportunity for Scouts to improve their map, compass, and navigation skills. To make things easy, there will be a mass start at 4:30PM. The address is 19 Contact Place, Delmont, on the ball field side of the park.

Come at 4:00PM if you need instruction on using a map & compass.

Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 5 mile hike at Mount Davis

Join us for a 5 mile hike around Mount Davis, the highest point in PA!

You will only need to carry a day-pack for the hike. No string backpacks! Please wear hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Bring a packed lunch & water for hike!

Completion of the hike fulfills a Second Class rank requirement.

Drop off (10:00AM) and pick up (5:30-6:00PM) at gravel lot next to Harrold Middle School.

On Saturday morning, we will be picking up the food.
